At CHS, both high school and adult students can enroll, including international learners.
If you’d like to take part-time courses, you can do so to strengthen your learning, move ahead faster in your school program, or complete unfinished courses. And if your goal is to graduate from CHS, you also have the option to apply as a full-time student.

Students may choose to take individual courses or complete the full OSSD program with us. Many students join Canaway High School to finish specific credits, while others complete the entire diploma through our school.
Yes. We review transcripts from other accredited institutions, and eligible credits can be transferred toward the OSSD requirements. This helps students avoid repeating courses they have already completed successfully.
The duration depends on the student’s academic background and study pace. On average, students complete the OSSD in 3 to 4 years starting from Grade 9. However, students joining later grades may finish sooner depending on transferred credits.
To graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) you must earn credits, participate in community involvement activities, and complete the provincial secondary school literacy requirement.
1. Credits Needed to Graduate: Students must earn the compulsory credits to obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
2. The 40-hour Community Involvement Requirement: As part of the diploma requirements, you must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities. These activities may be completed at any time while you earn your secondary school credits.
3. Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC): The OSSLC has been developed to provide students with intensive support in achieving the required reading and writing competencies, and as a means of demonstrating their literacy skills.
